GUEST BLOG: "A film festival is exactly what Harrogate needs" - Everyman Cinema

There is a great sense of community spirit in Harrogate; the town is always a buzz with the latest events and festivals. It’s no uncertainty that the Harrogate Film Festival will be received any differently. It’s so wonderful to see so many businesses and institutes come together to support this new and exciting festival.

A film festival is exactly what Harrogate needs, with its array of local film makers, actors and enthusiasts this could certainly be a town staple for many years to come and we here at Everyman Harrogate are very honoured to have been approached to host the competition screenings.

The showcase of films, which takes place at Everyman Cinema on the 4th and 5th of March, will bring together the work of film makers from across the world, what a fantastic way to bring the world cinema to Harrogate.

Our aim at Everyman is to bring the magic of cinema to the public in a unique and exciting way, with our fully licenced bar stocking beers, wines and spirits to our extensive menu offering delicious choices of firm favourites such as pizza, hot dogs and burgers. All freshly made to order and delivered to the comfort of your sofa seats in our screens.

If you want to go that extra mile and make it a cinema visit to remember you can privately hire any of our 5 screens. From kids birthday parties to corporate hire our screens and private bar can cater to any requirement you may have.

Everyman Harrogate is still a relatively new place, and yet we have already enjoyed some unique events and screenings since our opening in September 2016. Our Q&A sessions with films directors have proved popular; audiences were invited to watch the chosen film in the comfort of our intimate Screen 5 and once the feature came to an end they were then able to ask any burning questions they had to the people responsible for the production of the film.

We are planning even more special events and screenings, and hope to bring the magic of cinema, old and new, to Harrogate in a way that it has never experienced before.

Our upcoming special events for February include our Masquerade Party for the launch of 50 Shades Darker on February 10th and our valentines screening of Dirty Dancing on February 14th With all these wonderful things going on at Everyman Harrogate already it made perfect sense for us to come on board and be a partner of the Harrogate Film Festival. We’re really excited to see the festival in full swing come March and hope to see the Festival continue strive in the years
